"The Usual Suspects"

I think that "Usual Suspects" is the ultimate crime movie of the last two decades. "Usual Suspects" is indeed director's Bryan Singer masterpiece - and to be honest I saw one more of his movies and I was very disappointed. The movie has won two Oscar Academy awards: one for "best supporting actor" to Kevin Spacey - of course - for his brilliant performance as "Verbal" Kint and one for "best original screenplay" for Christopher McQuarrie.

I believe that all the magnitude of this movie lies to this back 'n' forth in time playing, based on an excellent montage work. Of course all the characters are superb and the performances (especially from Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne and Pete Postlethwaite) are really amazing. The story in brief is about a group of five criminal masterminds that they met one night in a police station, brought there as suspects. They decide to do some moves together and after their successful collaboration, a lawyer calls them in L.A. and make them a proposal representing his boss, the all time legendary criminal but never seen from anyone Keyser Soze. Keyser Soze is "a criminal so feared, so fabled, even the icy glares of these cold-blooded killers burn with terror at the mere mention of his name". The assignment is to attack on a ship that carries 91$ in drugs and take it over, but the truth is that the valuable cargo of the ship is the only person on earth how can positively identify who Keyser Soze is and his willing to testify to court about it. The attack ended up in a real massacre, with the crippled, weak Roger "Verbal" Kint to be the only survivor of the gang. U.S. Customs Special Agent David Kujan interrogates him, trying to prove that Kaiser Soze was Dean Keaton - the unquestionable leader of the gang and close friend of "Verbal" Kint. But Kint claims that Keyser Soze is another, different and real - not mythical - devilish criminal. Till the last frame of the movie you don't know for sure if really exist and who is Keyser Soze. But you find it out in the very last frame.

"Usual Suspects" have still very loyal funs all over the world. Many web sites are dedicated to the movie, but from them a choose "Alex's Usual Suspects Page", the "Usual Suspects Page" from "MovieWeb", the "Review of Usual Suspects" in "Film.Com" and the "Usual Suspects Fan Page".

Almost in all of them you can find the entire script to download it in .pdf format, character analysis and presentation and offers to buy the movie in DVD, VHS or to get some photos or posters. In "Alex's Usual Suspects Page" you can vote for "your favorite scumbag" in a pop up quizlet to the home page.

Anyway, the best thing you have to do is to see the movie by your own, but don't let anyone to reveal you, "who is Keyser Soze".
